Ocala Lady Niners

The Ocala Women’s Golf Association (OWGA) is one of the oldest women’s golf groups in this area with league play since 1947. It offers weekly golf for all levels from novice through seasoned competitor. For a number of years, it has included both a nine-hole and and eighteen-hole option depending on interest and available time.

 

The “Lady Niners” play on Thursday mornings at 8:00 a.m. beginning in September and ending play in May. There are assigned tee times and pairings. Players have the option to ride or walk. For additional information about the “Lady Niners, contact Mary McMillin at 629-2119 or Karen Stein at 351-0104.

  

Each year, there are a number of special events in both groups including scrambles, golf arounds with other clubs, match play, and a formal club championship. Schedules for each group are available at an organizational meeting in September.    The club regularly offers a lunch special on Mondays and Thursdays for those who want enjoy social time after play is completed.
